“SENIOR CLASS WISTOPY As we look back over our twelve long years of school we find that we have enjoyed tbem In the fall of 1914 Miss Flora Grinde started us on our school career There were forty one of us and we have always had a large class enrollvent We met with our first bad luck when our second grade teacher, Miss Violette qdainted Kucherha The g ade he her declded tc stay and heln us 'irish our second year leade s 1U the YCL o gar1zat1on Kiesz became ill Then awe the ordeal of recelving, becoming ac ith and losirs many different teachers Finally Viss Claire nest Seote ber foxnd most e returning to liss Lydia Frey's third Since we we e row the oldest g ade on the floor of the g ade bullding We were al ,s w itln' for tbe time when we would climh the stairs of the grade hulldlng and t 6 nd the uooer QTHOGS held for us Vdss Verna Schamber met e at the head of these sta1 s rd welcomed ds into her fourth grade room With tbe d ead of Ngett g ltn with Vr Heilman's rubber hose, we nas ed into the fffth grade Alice Vn7i's CTUtCHca which she 1 d hen she hurt he foot nrovided entertal ent for the whole class When we res hed t th lxth grade we tried out the T e e cane when Kr John Palmquist would let us Ramona Wolff joined our class th year W mustn't forget the annual pclrat showe that we had for our favorite teachers Now came the efciting time when we could move to the new high school bullding We were rather a wild bunch down That so ing we even had Eureka nWh t's that green stuff ore tho' Algehra wa tougb we had fun of kids hut that eighth grade math tamed us the country eignth grade graduation he e in there?n Oh thats the Fresh of 1943 Ewen durlng our fi st year of high school Gross and echick went out 'o football and when the glee club needed first tenors Hilmer Opn offered his se lces Is there anything more lively than a sonho ore class? We lived un to that s ying The girls Jolned glee club and some of the fello second tea 1F Basketball Several of us entered a SOlOlQtS in fest1val at Vohridge We became upper clas men at last, very nolsy ard full of smart hecomes or does not become a Junior class We nresented our f1rst Pete' Saken, under the di ection of Miss Dorraire Krause Three of were in the sexette and Connie Ratb accomnanied them Some of us t on the the music cracks as nlav 'For our gi ls were very active in gournali The final tonning to our junior year was the nrom which we gave for the seniors Those all imnortant senio s We have at last reached that cherished no S1tlOH Floyd Jundt was elected as our nresident, Esther Kromhein as vice oresident Jacky Harr as sec'y treas and LdTUUQ Koerner reoresents our class on the student covrcll Again we have reoresentatives in the music soorts, Journalism and other EHS organizations One of the h1gh11ghts of our senior year was the skip day excursion taken on October ?6th and due to bus trouble delayed us at Bismarck North Dakota until october 27th At the close of our senior year we gave our class play and enjoyed being entertained by the jun- iors at the prom May 26th marked the date of our baccalaureate services and on the ?7th we were together for tbe last time on our graduation It is our last wish that we a, enjoy the rest of our lives as re did our twelve years in school Of the original forty one beginners only eight remain They are Fsther Job, Marcella Kelle Floyd Jundt, Alice Enzi, 'velyn Schu acher and Donald Strobel, . . . 9 , A A '. , R . x - f 1 1 , 'H . - e ., , , A C u .... . .. - - -rv . 1. , .. .C ,. . , ., .. . . 1 Q Or- .
