Student Council This year's Student Council has played a vital part at Eureka High School by promoting student activities, by helping to solve student problems, and by con- stantly striving toward an improved high school. The carrying out of plans for the new student lounge marked their first major project. Also, they promoted the first homecoming in the school's history and sponsored all correlated activities including a parade, a dance, and an assembly program presented by former students. Another activity introduced and directed by the Council was an intra-mural athletic program. Officers were Charles Hendrickson, President: Pat Mcllvain, Secretaryg Harold Boone, Treasurer. Mrs. Mason sponsored this group during a busy and successful year. This years sixty-three members, under the leadership of Ellis Marcy, have been very actively engaged in a number of projects. They assisted in the repair of damaged classroom chairs and in the purchase and decoration of the Christmas tree placed annually in the upper hall. Especially enjoyed were the Father-son chili feed, the Mother-son banquet, the basketball games with other organizations, and a carol- ing party with the Kayettes. Their major financial project was the purchase of a popcorn machine which was operated by members at basketball and football games, with receipts going to the club treasury.
