MR. EDMUND ZEI-IR Mr. Zehr, who received his bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and his master's degree from the University of Illinois, taught social studies in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades at Mackinaw and at Pekin and Cooksville High Schools before coming to Unit 140. During his fourteen years with this district, Mr. Zehr has held several differ- ent positions. From his first position of teacher and principal at Goodfield, he moved to Davenport Grade School where he taught seventh and eighth grades for two years. When the junior high was started in the high school building, Mr. Zehr, who was in- strumental in its establishment, was appointed principal. Two years later he became principal of Davenport Grade School and held that position for seven years. Following that, he served for two years as Superintendent. Throughout his career, he has commanded the respect and admiration of his students and co-workers. Serving with dedication and ability, often at the cost of great personal sacrifice, he has contributed much to this community and to the education of its youth. In honor of these contributions, we, the Class of 1967, would like to dedi- cate this page to Mr. Edmund Zehr.
