cgofzgomofca 4,52-Q 5 Q g IL..- Up, gl Clfaia Nm: g Oyiifozy G The evening of September 2 found the prospective students of E. H. S. making great preparations for their first appearance. We were beginning a new phase in our edu- cationalg and although we were at first confused, we soon became familiar with our new surroundings. As we were a progressive class, we made great advancement in our studies. For our officers, we chose the most capable of the group: Bill Mach, president, Joyce McGee, vice-president, Virginia Jaycox, secretary, and Rex Barnes, treasm-er. .Tohanna Honigfort, Clinton Estell, and Bill Mach were chosen as our representatives to the student council. A large majority of our class participated in the various activities of our school. On returning from our vacation in September 1947, there were only ninety-eight of us left. Since we were Sophomores, we did things in a more business-like manner than we had done when we were inexperienced freshmen. Elections were cleared away and the results showed that the Sophomore Class was able to select competent leaders Don Loehr was made president, Bill Mach, vice-president, Marilyn Green, secretary, and Warren Niederschimdt, treasurer. Our student council members were Joyce Mc- Gee, Marilyn Green, and James Martin. During the year our group participated to a large extent in the numerous activities of our school. Some of the things our group took part in were music, athletics, assembly dramatics, and the Future Homemaker's Club. We also had members on the office staff, library staff, and several of our group rnadethehonnrroU. We are looking forward with p183.S1I'6 to om' remaining years at Eureka High School.
