cgofzgomofca 4,52-Q 5 Q g IL..- Up, gl Clfaia Nm: g Oyiifozy G The evening of September 2 found the prospective students of E. H. S. making great preparations for their first appearance. We were beginning a new phase in our edu- cationalg and although we were at first confused, we soon became familiar with our new surroundings. As we were a progressive class, we made great advancement in our studies. For our officers, we chose the most capable of the group: Bill Mach, president, Joyce McGee, vice-president, Virginia Jaycox, secretary, and Rex Barnes, treasm-er. .Tohanna Honigfort, Clinton Estell, and Bill Mach were chosen as our representatives to the student council. A large majority of our class participated in the various activities of our school. On returning from our vacation in September 1947, there were only ninety-eight of us left. Since we were Sophomores, we did things in a more business-like manner than we had done when we were inexperienced freshmen. Elections were cleared away and the results showed that the Sophomore Class was able to select competent leaders Don Loehr was made president, Bill Mach, vice-president, Marilyn Green, secretary, and Warren Niederschimdt, treasurer. Our student council members were Joyce Mc- Gee, Marilyn Green, and James Martin. During the year our group participated to a large extent in the numerous activities of our school. Some of the things our group took part in were music, athletics, assembly dramatics, and the Future Homemaker's Club. We also had members on the office staff, library staff, and several of our group rnadethehonnrroU. We are looking forward with p183.S1I'6 to om' remaining years at Eureka High School. lk . LU7.LO'L iifqglbf Czgzaa C3HQ1foz9 On September 4, 1945, the halls of Eureka High School were invaded by one hundred seventy freshman of the Wgreenest variety. This class was the largest in the history of E. H. S. After a few weeks, we became accustomed to our surroundings and began to make rapid progress. To guide us over our rough spots, we chose Jmmlor Krumery, class president, Bob Frandsen, vice-president, Vic Cooper, secretary-treasurer. Wanda Arft, Leland Hagemeier, Junior Krumery, and Bob Frandsen were our student council representatives. When school opened again in September of '46, we still had with us one hundred eighteen of our original number. Since we were an alert class, we soon were taking part ln the many school activities. One big event of the year was the Freshman-Soph- omore basketball game in which we came out the victors. We elected responsible officers and were represented in the council by Shirly Kausch, Patsy Etzold, Jim DeSalme, and Fred Wolf. At the beglmxing of the school year of 1947, we returned as mighty Juniors, admired and envied by our underclassmen. We chose, to lead our class, Darwin Kraus, presi- dent, Harry Strothkamp, vice-president, Patsy Etzold, secretaryg and Mary Paffrath, treasurer. Jim DeSalme, Shirly Kausch, and Bob Frandsen were our student council representatives. Under the excellent supervision of Miss Johnson, our class play, Don't Take My Penny, was a huge success. As this year rapidly draws to a close, we are eagerly anticipating our final year at dear old E. I-I. S. I Page Twenty s fx
