I Q' :Ya an iofc U' ,f ': gf Page Fourteen I an Oyiafo 'Ly On September 5, 1944, one hundred and seven Green Freshies peered out the bus windows for their first view of E. H. S. Although we were bewildered, we adjusted ourselves to our surroundings and settled down to a full year. We chose four boys as our officers: Charles Cruse, president, Eugene Sehrt, vice- presldentg Charles Mach, secretaryg and Hary Gebhardt, treasurer. To represent each of our home rooms on the student council we chose: Mary Lois Glaser, and Eu- gene Sehrt. In the annual basketball game between freshmen and the eighth-graders, we were victorious. In 1945 we returned to E. H. S. decreased in number to eighty-seven. But we were Sophomoresl Elections were soon cleared away, and we again chose a fine group of class officers. As president, we shoee Charles Mach, as vice-president, Charles Krieg, and as secretary-treasurer, Eugene Sehrt. Gardner Hausman, Lois Darnell, and Betty Heitman were chosen to represent us on the student council. As a Soph- omore Class, we provided several members for the basketball and track teams. In September of '46, seventy-three happy Juniors returned to the halls of Eureka High. We chose as our class officers: Charles Mach, president, Joy Hellwlg, secre- tary, and Dona Mach, treasurer. Our student council members were: Charles Cruse, Eugene Sehrt, a.nd Charles Krieg. In the J unior-Senior softball game, we lost to our elders. We presented A Date With Judy, and we will always look upon this presentation with pride. Then came the event most highly anticipated, the prom, where Joy Hellwig and Dona Mach were our prom maids. Thus, a year of many happy events and hours spent together was drawn to a close. On September 2, 1947, we returned for the last time, sixty in number. For the executive positions, we selected: Charles Mach, president, Eugene Sehrt, vlce-pres- identg Elsie Jung, secretary, Joy Hellwlg, treasurer. To represent us on the student council we chose: Jack Perry, from Miss Pierce's home room, Charles Krieg, from Mr. Guenter'sg and Eugene Sehrt, from Mrs. Adam's. This year we won the Junior -Senior softball game and basketball game. As prom maids we chose, Imogene Etzold, Elsie Jung, and Dona Mach, three of our lovellest. The days passed swlftlyl Now that we have come to the time of graduation exer- cises, we are filled with conflicting emotions. We are anxious to complete high school and to enter upon a new llfeg yet, we are sorry to leave this school where we have worked and played for four years. Since time does not wait, we bid you Adleu.
