'Paitittttg- PAINTING MEMORIES is the 1987 yearbook staff’s version of this school year. Depicting the theme is the new Cardinal mascot which the senior class presented to the school on April 29, 1987, as a symbol of their appreciation for the education they received. This piece of art was created by a artist from our own county, Tex wZe«tt vUe4, Welch of Westcraft Metal Arts. Mr. J. E. Earhart generously placed the Cardinal on the front of the high school. As the pages are turned, expressions, feelings, and activities of this past year of school are hoped to be forever painted in the minds of every reader. Special thanks go to Mr. Sam Oswald and Tony Berumen for their artwork and cover design. 3

The 1987 Cardinal is dedicated to Mrs. Glenda Chapman. She has been employed by Eunice Schools for sixteen years. During these years, she has worked with and for the students in many activities. Serving as cheerleader sponsor, student council sponsor, and class sponsor has taken up much of her private life. Commuting to her work has not stopped her from being an avid Cardinal fan, as she can be seen at numerous sporting events as well as academic activities. Mrs. Chapman is involved in various school committees along with serving the community in several ways. Her work is respected among her fellow workers and the students she works with. The 1987 Annual Staff proudly dedicates this annual to Mrs. Glenda Chapman for all of the support she has given the students at Eunice High School.
