Perhaps you don't remember some of the highlights of it, so we are going to review them for you. It appears that we rather like English teachers, because every year in high school, we have had an English teacher as one of our sponsors. When we were Freshmen, Miss Anne Hardeman was our sponsor, and for our assembly program we gave two short skits. As Sophomores we were growing up and this year we started our reputation of presenting good plays. Our sponsor was Miss Lugene Lawrence. As Juniors we were really up and coming, we presented our first night play in Decem- ber, Mama's Baby Boy, and took a short trip in May to the beach at Carlsbad. We had Mrs. Iva Scarborough and Mr. Orin Bartholomew as sponsors. Our Senior year has been one we will never forget. Of course, we have had our trials and tribulations, but every Senior Class has. As sponsors this year, we had Mrs. Clark Campbell and Mr. Watkins. Then after Mrs. Campbell at mid-term. Miss Annadell Harkey took her place. All three have been wonderful, and we wish to thank them for helping us in so many wonderful ways. At the beginning of the year we had twenty-two Seniors, then two moved out, and three moved in, so we now have twenty-three. Martha Martin is the only Senior that has gone her entire school life to Eunice Public Schools. Josie Davis and Dorothy Wilkins both came from Breckenridge, Texas in the fourth grade. Josie left in the seventh grade, and returned as a Freshman. Lucy Miller came from Iraan, Texas as a fifth grader. Eugenia Johnston, Betty Neathery, La Nelle Hardy, and J. E. Earhart, all came in the sixth grade. Eugenia from Monument, New Mexico; Betty from Pittsburg, Oklahoma; La- Nelle from Artesia, New Mexico; J. E. from Le Fors, Texas. Maedell McCullough came here in the seventh grade from Robert Lee, Texas. Ed Snodgrass and Jeanne Mcllroy came in the eighth grade. Ed came from Monu- ment, New Mexico, and Jeanne from Colorado City, Texas. Clarence Groomer entered school here as a Freshman from Gene Autry, Oklahoma. Jnonelle Reeves, Jackie Clark, and Bill King came here as Sophomores. Jnonelle came from Wink, Texas; Jackie from Long Beach, California; Bill from Dallas, Texas. Four of our present class members entered school here as Juniors. They were: Dwain Amerson, from Hobbs, New Mexico; Rufus Upton, from Rising Star, Texas; Curtis Cobb, from Macomb, Oklahoma; and Irl Welch who was returned from nearly two years service in the Navy to join our class. As Seniors we welcomed to our class three students: Mary Jane Morgan from Plain Dealing, Louisiana; Jack Clower from Dallas, Texas; and George Montgomery from Jal, New Mexico. This is the history of our class up to this date, but as you will find out in our prophecy, we plan to be busy in the near future. CLASS PROPHECY 10 YEARS HENCE Josie Davis has settled down as Mrs. Wilkins and is the leading society matron in the growing city of Eunice. Adrian Dwain Amerson finished a petroleum engineering course at Georgia Tech, and is now in South America with an oil Company. Frances La Nelle Hardy is now head dietician in the children's ward at Johns Hopkins Hospital when she should be at home tending to her own kids. Jackie Lee Clark is now a full admiral on the Battleship U.S.S. New Mexico. Remember, he joined the Navy the day after we graduated. Clarence Groomer is Cabin Boy, First Class to the Admiral's quarters, U.S.S. New Mexico. You know, he joined the Nervy with Jackie. Eugenia Lea Johnston has settled down in a beautiful home in Fort Worth, Texas, and keeps busy with a family of three children and one husband. John Clarkson Clower has just come back from the Olympics with the title of World Champion Skier. He told reporters he made the skis in the Manual Training Class at Eunice High. William A. King is a famous Wall Street broker. He started out in another firm as a bookkeeper with the knowledge he gained in dear old Eunice High. Joyce Maedell McCullough is head secretary in Mr. King's office, and does the im- portant and difficult tabulating. Curtis Cobb has just come back from South Africa where he had a successful hunt- ing expedition for saber tooth tigers. When Jeanne Avon Mcllroy left high school she was planning to become a surgeon, but it is quite obvious that a certain Euncie High basketball star didn't have a hard time changing her mind. J. E. Earhart and his wife, she is new to us, are living in Chicago, and J. E. is using his brilliant mind as a research scientist in the Westinghouse laboratories there. Martha Louise Martin is a commercial artist for Neiman-Marcus in Dallas. Lloyd Carl Smith is president of Smith Machine Works in the thriving oil center of Eunice. Benny Lucille Miller is the hard-boiled head nurse of Baylor Nursing School in Waco. Thomas Edward Snodgrass is still the same old carefree Ed he was in high school, doing first one thing and then another. Mary Jane Morgan went back to Louisiana after she graduated, and is now rearing a family. Rufus Dale Upton is now head butcher in the Super Food Market in Rising Star, Texas, but he still hasn't learned how to wrap meat. Betty Ruth Neathery is now the owner of a luxurious home in Palm Beach, Florida. She often invites some of her classmates down for a little visit. Irl Welch is now the proud owner a new red jet-propelled Dodge. Did he really need the jet-propulsion? Dorothy Jnonelle Reeves and C. D. still fuss and fight all the time, but it isn't so easy for C. D. to get away from her now. Dorothy Louise Wilkins is now Mrs. Rodney Plattsmier, and is very busy rearing her five sons and one daughter.
