l949 . . . Just one hundreb years ago men started their westward march in search at gold. Same dug gold from the stubborn earth, and others went on to find an even richer store of wealth in the opportunities that lay around them. This book is a milestone of one year in that search for the gold of achievement. Through these years, each of us, in his own way, has found his place .... As a class we have golden memories of the work and fun we've had together . . . dances, proms, basket- ball games, football games, assemblies . . . and our music!

GLENN GRIFFITH The music was light and gay, and his hands seemed to draw beauty from the radiant source of the song .... And then with a discord that shook the air the song was ended and all was still. From far away, softly and silently the mournful melody began. lt rose, but even the sadness of the occasion could not shadow the greatness of the love that he gave us in song. Even now, the song is not ended, for it is all songs, sung from every heart, an undying tribute to him.
