Williams, S, Winston, Mr. Micklewait, ' Have you studied for that exam in Eng- lish? lt sure is tough. That Sth question- No kidding? I thought she was going with Bill. This is our student council, a very active organization in every sense of the word. Any group that can do such a good job transacting student body affairs and at the some time discuss everything from physics to the latest fads is indeed outstanding. The council is composed of representatives from each home room plus various important elected and appointed officers from around the school. The meetings are held every two weeks with special meetings for important and pertinent issues, which usually turn out to be the weather or Saturday night. A good part ot the business responsibilities of the council is taken care of by committees, roped and corraled by the president. These committees gather all necessary informa- tion and make recommendations to the council. After discussing the proposals of the committee the council always ends up voting unanimously yes At times it seems possible that one could propose that all coun- cil members be guillotined, and the ayes would automatically echo throughout the room. But, the students of Eugene High can be assured that the council is a democratic or- ganization and works for the welfare and in- terest of every student. i -Q7 px- Student council caught in th e act. -
