he year started off in a great big bang when the whistle blew and everyone ran into line. Headed by the band's director Bill Shafer and Dave Viglione the marching band season was called into line in the middle of August. Marching rudiments in the sun, real- izing that there are only eight steps to one yard played a big impor- tance in a practice. Making circles, squares, and staight lines made up a Friday night show. Throughout the season, the marching band par- ticipated in the Wolly Bear Festival, the Festival of the Bands, which was held in the stadium downtown, and they cheered on the football team at every game. The band played for an Indians Baseball Game and hopes to get involved with more shows and participate in more events such as these. Mr. Shafer and Mr. Viglione encour- aged the traveling for experience and getting those Euclid colors on top of the best. The band sold fudge and candy which raised enough money for new uniforms, for the band. The uniforms were to be worn, hopefully in the Memorial Day Parade if not during the band concert, at the end of the year. They our ready now and their ex- citement will carry for next year, for they are coming in style and in good sound, to cheer on the foot- ball team all the way, and to put the blue and gold on the map! -Sarah Bierer Wwdlflfg 7-UA Beal' Ewddf maclag bw! leap! th naw MQ nsuwnv'Wf rv . ,Q Marching Band. he 1987-88 Majorettes enjoyed another successful season as Eu- clid's Golden Girls . Led by cap- tain, Kellie Koren, the majorettes partici- pated in eleven pre-game and half time shows. ln addition, they participated in a Cleveland Indians Game, the Vermillion Wolly Bear Parade, the G.C.C. Tourna- ment, and the Euclid Memorial Day Pa- rade along with the Marching Band. This season was special as three of the Majorettes were the first four-year Major- ettes in the history of Euclid High School. Captain Kellie Koren, Diane Hodnichak, and Teresa Yuhas acted as big sisters to the three freshman on the team, Co- leen Bradach, Lisa Riedel, and Jennifer Beck. They spent a lot of time practicing, marching, and twirling their batons. Many memories were made this year. This year was the greatest football season ever for the Euclid Panthers. -Diane Hodnichak Twfhbg Awww!
