t's September 2, 1987, the first day of school, and the first thing you come upon is an ugly, green and brown locker that makes you nauseous. Besides its nasty appearance, it also de- vises thousands of ways to annoy stu- dents, such as refusing to close, jamming, slamming its door on your fingers, and letting the handle fall off. What can stu- dents do to prevent this locker abuse? One way students found to fight the terri- ble fiends was to decorate them with pic- tures of rock stars, pets, animals, friends, and gorgeous men and women. Others Missy Ball using her locker for her art work Danelle Gildone, Diana Koman and Cheree Turner were too embarassed to show their lockers. W put mirrors on their lockers so they could vainly admire themselves between class- es, and some put up notepads for com- munication and shelves for extra storage space. Besides this, students also decorat- ed the outside of lockers with Happy Birthday messages. All in all, lockers are student's 'homes away from home.' Lockers offered students the chance to express who they are and what they're interested in with artistic decorations. They're also a great place to throw books and other unwanted things. -Katie Weakland nm ,CM HM Mowuujwfapbmhbmh Sally Bierer seems to be fond of her locker Lockers Heidi Martin wasted no time in decorating her locker Christine Yurcich and Kristin Schoen don't want to leave their lockers
