Q e ssssss C Q. , L :W J.V.'s battle to 3-3-1 The JV football team found the going tough in the GCC race this year, ending their season with a 3-3-1 record, 4-5-l overall. Like the Varsity, the squad had an impressive first victory but lost to their next two opponnents, St. Joes and St. Ignatius. 5 f The team came back the following week and beat Maple 5 Heights by a good margin but again dropped their next games. , ggh W The highlight of the season was the battling of the Pan- thers and Brush, which ended in a 0-O tie. ,lj X C Coach Hartman is hopeful in next season's outlook that this year's experience will help. . Booters finish 8-5-1 Varsity Soccer got off to a slow start, but finished strongly, winning 4 of the last 5 matches. The team ended with an overall record of 8-5-1. Some outstanding players that contributed to the team's success were Seniors Bob Simicak, who made lst team All Conference 2 years in a row, Co-captain Jeff Freedman, who made 2nd team All Conference, Jim Paprizous, voted Most Valuable Player, and Zdenko Nov- kovic.
