GIRLS' SOFTBALL The Girls' Softball team staggered off to a slow start but compensated for this by their victories over the top teams of the league. Their hot streak started with the shellacing of Brush, possessor of 2nd place in the GCC, then dredging of Willoughby South Q10-51, the winner of the GCC tournament and currently in sole possession of first place, and the next day they I came back to battle the same South to an 8-7 decision. Four of these runs came in on a grand-slarn home run by JoAnne Bokar, her second grand-slam of the season and fourth home run. A grueling 12 inning ordeal against Eastlake North made Euclid victors again, when Chris Gole singled and Pinch- . hitter Natalie Rudman drove in the winning run. They I also showed Mayfield Heights, the league leader, that the pantheretts meant business when they drubbed them 14-11. All the team members made C-I X .rv-'57 4: 'll' it safely to base in this game and Linda Misch hit ' a triple. Chris Perryman and Barb Swansinger blasted home runs at Brush. Mary Ellen Turk pitched the entire Mayfield game. The most extraordinary and unbelieveable play of the season was a triple play at Brush. JoAnne Bokar, Sandi Stankiewicz, and Barb Swansinger executed this outstanding play. This team is fundamentally sound and will definitely be a strong contender next year. .llfil ROW 1, L-R: Linda Misch, Kathy Hutton, Natalie Rudman, Vicky Chapman, Cheri Strah.
