BOARD OF EDUCATION Left to right Loyal Luikart C E Bowman Russell Gloss, Mrs. Grace Watkins, John Davis School spirit is one of those intang- ibles that result from a good school. Teachers sense it and so does your com- munity. It appears to be strongest in those schools where the student body and faculty together are enthusiastic about what the school is trying to do. That is the reason that in some of our colleges the crowd in the stadium will remain standing and cheer the losing team in an athletic contest. lt was not winning or losing which was most important. The character and integrity of the boys and girls and their willingness to do the right thing is a basic factor. To do the right thing and to be proud of it in the face of the scorn of others is one of the most important lessons a person may learn. To be proud each year of achievement, contributions made, and tuture ambitions is the prerogative of every senior class. My best wishes to the class of 1957, Sincerely yours, ' W. G. Fordyce Superintendent of Schools
