Principal TO THE CLASS OF 1955: Twelve years have passed since we started out as ‘‘Freshmen ’ together at Etowah--youin the first grade and I serving my firstyearas principal. Dur- ing this time we have shared many new and different experiences. With the magic eye of the camera you have captured highlights of these twelve years; and within these pages are found your friends--faculty members and students--each of whom, in his or her way, has had a partin your education and happiness, The Chief will serve as a memory book that will keep you tied to your Alma Mater and to the friends you have made here. It cannot show the educational benefits nor worthy traits of character you have acquired; only time can reveal these. As aclass and as individuals, you have had big plans for the future, It has always been my desire tohelp lead you along the right path toward the ful- fillment of these plans. I want to commend you for your accomplishments in life thus far, and to congratulate you for staying in school until you have reached the goal of graduation, Now like a ‘‘team in the huddle,’’ youare readyto begin the biggest game of all--the game of life.
