The day we first entered the halls of Etna, we were 'igreenw freshmen always giving the way to the upperclassmen and dreaming of the day when we would be one of them. During the course of that year. we made new friends and got accustomed to our surroundings. We joined clubs and entered all other activities open to us at the time. Passing on to the remaining three years. we find more clubs opened to us and always a great number of our members willing to take part. In our junior year we were taken under the guidance of Mr. George Ylarsico. to whom we owe a great deal of thanks. Without his help. we would never have reached our goals with our magazine sales. Concession stand. and our Junior-Senior prom which was held at the Alcoma Country Club. Peering into the past two years we find two successful plays. Melody Jones. and Seven Keys to Baldpatef, As we now come into our final days. we find ourselves wishing we could start school over again: but. now we must take the Boldest Journey that we have ever taken. Boldest because we will have to face life ourselves without the guiding hands of our teachers and supervisors, to whom we owe so much. Time passes quickly. and only now do we realize all that school means to us. As we now leave the protective walls of Etna High School. we go with the hope that our class will be a credit in the future to our school. our community. and our country. X? 'ill 3 H+. GIANT STEP As school resumed on September fourth. freshly-scruhlred freshmen walked over the threshold of E.H.S. Filled with the eagerness to explore the halls and meet new friends. many of them got lost in conversation and in the halls that first day: hut soon got well on their way to classes with the help of upperclassmen. Once settled, they elected officers. joined clubs and got adjusted to their class routines. For the first time. Etna had a Junior Major- ette Corps, composed of four girls, three of which the freshman class claimed as their own members. The hoys were interested in athletics, and other members of this class took their respective places in the hand. This group also had their share of honor students. As we focus our camera on the accomplish- ments of this fine class, we can predict that they will soon take that Giant Stepi' into Etna's hall of fame. 49 0 95 V f A I fe' .:f- -7' 9-B First row: L. It was an experience for all the upperclassinen. as well as the faculty. to watch these young students at the Cross- roads of high-school life. At first, there was a little question as to how the senior high would be affected by the presence of this group, but as the year ends, we find that the junior high students have entered clubs and other activities successfully. and that they have as much school spirit and eagerness to make high school an experience of a life- time as the rest of the student body. From the appearance of the friend- ship that has grown between under and upperclassrnen, Etna can look forward with pride to a bright future known as Etna Junior-Senior High School. The characters were only actors whom he had hired to make his novel writing unsuccessful. This i-nt the end of the story for we find that everything which had occurred in the Za- hours was only a figment of Magees imagination. and was all in the novel he wrote. 71' .,, Q fi 'F ff? !'w a yi ia rum ET.
