Two part1es were held 1n our sophomore year both of them the last semester The f1rst was a theatre party The mov1e was When Wlllle Comes March1ng Home The second party was at the Dunes State Park Punch and hotdogs were served The only party we had dur1ng the Jumor year was when we took the Sen1ors to the Brookfield Zoo 1n Ch1cago We sold concesslons at the ball games dur1ng the year we sold Chr1stmas cards wrappumg paper plastlc towels and magaz1nes all of wh1ch helped to bu1ld up our treasury for our tr1p Our play H1llb1lly Courtshlp was qu1te prof1table and was enjoyed by all A dozen semors started our semor year hovnever Tom Hof fer lasted only 4 days Our f1rst b1g task was to be sure each one had the proper subjects so that May 8 1952 would not f1nd us wantmg We and we hope the freshmen enjoyed the1r 1n1t1at1on on Oct 9 1951 There were 10 of them and ll of us We had lots of fun and lots to eat and all semors went home feellng that the lowly freshmen had been properly 1nducted 1nto the realm of h1gh school l1fe Three cake raffles were held M1lford Bourbon and Atwood games were selected to have chances at cakes Qbaked by senxors Basket ball was hardly out of the way before we started on our Sen1or Play We presented the play 1n Apr1l to a large and apprec1a t1ve aud1ence We were thrmlled to get started and happy to have lt over Alumn1 was held 1n the Gym Sat Aprll 26 wmth f1ne food a f1ne program and all ll of us felt that we were proud to Joxn all the loyal Alumn1 of Etna Green H1gh School Baccaulaureate was Sunday May 4 at the Methodlst Church Commencement was Tues May 6 1n the Gymnas1um Our tr1p started Thurs May 8 w1th Shoup Motor Bus taklng us on an 1nterest1ng and 1nstruct1ve tr1p gett1ng home Sat May 17 t1red but happy, World What next? .1 'lx ECKER -E Q l TRUCKING SERVICE lil! SENIOR PROPHECY I took off 1n my atom1c propelled car one day and was crursxng along the hmghway lookmg at the beaut1ful scenery when I not1ced a very beaut1fu1 home on a tall h1ll The name plate on the front of rt sald Reprogle Foundat1on I happened to th1nk that one of my class mates had that name I stopped and to my surpr1se the pres1dent and founder of the place was D1ck He had a sc1ent1f1c research laboratory where he had some very comphcated operat1ons go1ng on all the t1me He was showmg me around and much to my surpr1se I found that a frmend was workmg for h1m He 1ntroduced me to h1S secretary who was Francy Taylor the w1fe of Reed Taylor I talked to her awh1le and she told me that her husband Reed was do1ng ex tenslve farm1ng 1n that area After D1ck showed me around he drove me out to see Reed When I went to the door I was greeted by Ruth Stutzman who was Reed s and Francy s mald After Reed Ruth and I had talked over old trmes Reed started to show me around h1s two thousand acre farm He had two farm houses for h1s h1red hands To my surpr1se h1s hrred hands were Glen Huffman and Dale Sh1vely Glen was marr1ed to V1rg1n1a Blosser and they had a famrly of s1x chrldren Dale was marr1ed to Beverly Ba1r We talked to them for awh1le and then Reed took me back to town On the way we got to talklng about basketball and he told me that Dallas Stouder was coach of the1r team So I went over to see Dal and found out that he had marr1ed Patty and had bu1lt a n1ce house there He told me he was coach1ng two of Carl Kl1nefelter's boys for basketball He also told me that Carl was marr1ed to Ruth Poulson and that Ruth S father and he had bought out the Ford Auto Company and were makmg these new atomlc cars Iwent to see Carl and he gave me a very n1ce welcome 1n h1s beautlful mans1on He told me that Lorrame Dunham and Donna Rose had started an orphans school and home We went over to see them They both looked so good and loved those orphans so much Wh1le we were there Lorrame 1ntroduced me to the orphan s nurse who to my surprlse was Donnabelle Rockh1ll She had never gotten marr1ed and had devoted all her l1fe servlces to these orphans I suddenly reahzed that I had been v1s1t1ng for two weeks and went back to say good by to D1ck and then go home I went back to D1ck s home and they talked me 1nto stay1ng for awhlle I started go1ng w1th Ruth Stutzman and so about four months later D1ck and I had a double weddlng I marr1ed Ruth and he marr1ed Josephlne after all these years We had all of our classmates and the1r fam1l1es there and had a great reun1on After our honeymoon I took my w1fe and went back home to my mans1on 1n the 1ndustr1ous c1ty of Etna Green where I have my b1g f1or1st bus1ness Don Waggoner IO . ,V . ,, . - . v v ' I ' ! 3 , - . . . - I . . . . .
