We are proud of our lads and our lasses, Of honors won in days gone by, So here's a cheer for our old High School, For our old High School, our dear old High Chorus Hereis to our classes, here's to our lasses. Hereis to the lads they adore. Here's to the Senior so mighty Junior so flighty, Freshie and Sophomore. Let mirth and gladness banish all sadness And as the days roll by, You'll find us ready and steady Boosting for our old High. Soon for us will our school days he ended. The dreams of youth that fade so fastg But we know that our hearts oft will ponder On memories of scenes that are past. There are joy s that will long he remembered. And friendships too, that ne'er will dieg So heres a cheer for our old High School, For our old High School. our dear old High. sw l' ij, 1j f ' x Front rou Denms Elke B111 Beaver Don Nlahan Tlm Hoffman Allen Lande Don Barber .llm Osgood Daud Paulson jmm Gnen Row Two Ole Ref ell .hm Smtth Stanley 1N1ck1e George Stavros Larry Bloom Larrw Frederick en Don Rohm on Russell Qtump Ronald Book Cary Gem Stew 21044945 Www 74a Second m11l Floyd Elde ThlS scar the 'Nhdgets brought to a close a successful Lakes Conference season after droppmg the opener a non conference game to Falrmont From the first game on the Wlldgets clld not lose a game and LllI1LhfC1 thelr second stralght Lakes Conference crown by defeatmg Qpxrlt Lake 13 0 The Vldgets showed conslderalmlc strength lll trouncmg Storm Lake 200 ln lllbll' hr t conference game lhe next wm came agamst a splrlted 5113165 team who hcld the Ylldget down to l-1 points 14 0 ln a h rcl fought game hstherxllle downcd hcr traclxtlonal IIX al and contender for the Lakcs Conference crown Npencer 190 'lhey followccl up with a wm oxer Nheldon ln the score of 150 Sheldon also was a tough contender for the tltle L xllle met Cherokee bcfore a large I'1OIllCL0ll1lIlg crowd 'lhe hometown boys won ln .1 tlght margin 1 0 It was N111 numln r 0 wh: n 1 tht rxlllf pulls d a clo e game out of the fire to defeat Fmmetsburg 15 6 llopes were hlgh as we traxcled to Splrlt lake to close out the season The exenmg endcd w nth a 15 U XSlI'11O clmch the tltle ln the last two years Esthervllle has won two Lakes Conference crowns and durmg that tlme has not lost a conference game Stanley Nlckles reeened credit for hls part m thlB record when be was named on the A11 State flfSl team 32 c I I . Lnder the direction of Woodrow Ferguson, the band tackled and mastered some of the hardest selections written for a band. On December 7 the band performed their annual Christ- mas concert, appearing in new uniforms-gray trousers with blue topcoats trimmed in gold. The band mothers worked especially hard to earn money for these uniforms. The band soon began to prepare for the spring concert, practicing on marches, overtures, some arrangements of popular tunes. and special feature numbers. This was given on March 4. Both concerts were recorded for the benefit of the band. The combined vocal and band music festival was an occasion of fun and learning combined. A well-known band director from out of town was secured to take over the direct- ing for an entire day to prepare for a concert that evening. He brought new ideas and suggestions. Individual members of the band participated in solo and ensemble entries in the music contest the latter part of April.
