The 1953-54 school year sees a continuation of winning ways of past years in F F A competition. The Estacada chapter is regarded as a constant threat in all F.F.A. con- tests and now owns forty-two banners and trophies from County, District, and State competition since the 1947-4-8 year. The livestock judging team won a second in the Clackamas County Jersey show. second in the Clackamas County Lamb show, third in the Columbia County Livestock show over twenty-three schools, third of thirty-one schools in the Clarkamas County Fair. and fifth in the State in the State Fair Dairy judging. The Estacada boys who were on the team two or more contests in livestock judging were Jesse Moore, who also won the State trophy for highest individual in the State contest. Robert Shook, Norman Clark, Cordon Schmidt. ,lames Coffield, James Chrys- ler, and George Weisgerber. Estacada again won the Columbia River District and Northwestern Oregon Public Speaking contest. George Bailey was the chapter speaker. He placed fourth ln the State speaking on Farm Safety.
