Freshmen Fever This year's freshmen class is by far the largest in EJHS history. As with all freshmen, we were at first scared and felt that we did not belong in this strange new world. But after a week or so, these beliefs were changed. Now we are in all sorts of programs and courses. For the first time we have a freshmen soccer squad, (Not winning but good experience) and of course all kinds of other teams and clubs just waiting for the new crop of bright-eyed bushy tailed freshmen. All in all we have gotten off to a good start for the class of '88 Phys, Ed. Introduction to physical education is a one semester course required for all freshmen. The course consists of four days a week of running and aerobic exercise plus one day a week of lecture on the body systems and functions. Intro, is designed to get students into better physical fitness. Freshmen Float The freshmen float was a great success. There was much controversy about the theme at first, but we think our final decision was the best. The theme of the 1984 freshmen float was, We burnt you Spaulding. We have illustrated this by constructing a gigantic toaster. The inside, a piece of toast (Eric Kovel) will pop up, while the hornet (Janie Overfield) pushes him back down. Due to the freshmen class (including parents), we produced a great float.
