Principal ’s Message My sincerest congratulations go to the yearbook staff, its sponsors and the senior class for this publica- tion. I am grateful and appreciative of the manner in which this project has been conducted. This year’s annual encompasses and reflects a degree of uniqueness. The faculty advisors and sponsors of this yearbook were new to this task and though reluctant, nevertheless, accepted this challenge with unprecedented vigor and a determination to do those things and make those changes that would contribute to the total improve- ment of this publication. The initiative, cooperation and perseverance that the members of this yearbook staff exhibited could only be labeled remarkable and these qualities served to enhance the total efforts which combined to make this yearbook one of which we all at Essex High are proud. My earnest thanks and appreciation are extended to the Faculty, Parents and students who through co- operation and understanding have confirmed their convictions that quality education is the best hope for the future democratic society. Although a review of this yearbook is expected to bring to memory those pleasant and lighter moments that have always characterized school life, it is hoped that this year ' s book will keep all mindful of the ever growing importance of education and kindle a dedicated determination within all of its readers to lend unlimited support to the cause of education. 8
