We, the Class of 1955, of the Essex County High School, do hereby make and declare this to be our last will and testament in form and manner as follows: To the School, we leave the examples we have set as worthy scholars and blameless stu- dents. To the Community at large, we bequeath the influence we have been for the honorable and the better things of life; our interest in music, in community programs and in charitable drives. To the Faculty, we leave our highest respect and indebted love. To the Junior Class, we bestow our richest treasures, our senior dignity, our ex- celling wit, our superlative brilliancy, our charming manners, our favor with the teachers, our excellent grades and our triumphant exit as the most outstanding class this school has ever had. To the Sophomore Class, we leave two more years of hard work, for we believe that it was hard work that enabled us to reach our goal. To the Freshman Class, we leave our fearlessness to tackle the job at hand and the courage to push forward. The Class of 1955, not willing to leave all of our possessions, take with us the most valuable of all, our love for ECHS. --Johnnie Mae Fortune Emma Hoskins
