Ё 01, unt ZA b: Y UNSER E LUMI š | credo Ai ИНЕ The Class of 1963 Üssex County Vocational and Technical High School and Adult Technical School Bloomfield, New Jersey “Ж espectfully Dedicates Sts Yearbook to HAZEL DeCAMP JAMES R. McCORMICK y2 0 Mrs. Hazel DeCamp and James R. McCormick retired in June, 1963, after twenty-four and twenty-nine years, respectively at our school. Mrs. DeCamp was graduated from Newark State Normal School in 1916, received a bachelor of science degree from Newark State College in 1939, and a master of arts degree from Montclair State College in 1945, majoring in guidance counseling and personnel work. Upon graduating from Newark State, Mrs. DeCamp taught in New Brunswick, then in Irvington, New Jersey. At Bloomfield Tech, she has been both librarian and teacher of literature. Mr. McCormick, who spent over forty years in teaching, began working in 1916 as an electrical apprentice with the General Electric Company at Lynn, Massachusetts. Attending M.I.T. at night, he com- pleted his course in 1922, then taught at the State Trade School, Put- nam, Connecticut, until 1929, when he joinedthe Essex County system. His subjects at Bloomfield have been mathematics, physics, and the related sciences in the automotive and electrical fields. He plans to continue to live at his home in the Brookdale section of Bloomfield. Both Mrs. DeCamp and Mr. McCormick contributed much to Bloomfield Tech, and will be missed keenly. Every wish goes with them for a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement. JOSEPH S. UMOWSKI Principal MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL To you, the Graduate of 1963: For some of you, formal education beyond high school is not possible now, and you are obliged to select a vocation. Be assured that this in no way need limit your success - - - especially if you are forcefully purposeful and avidly dedicated to self- improvement. Perhaps the most important thing you have to face now is tofind the right job. Do not compromise by selecting one for the relatively easy, quick money it will afford you, and sacrifice the opportunities for which you might be better qualified. Patience is as much a requisite to suc- cess as enthusiasm, ambition, intelligence, and a desire to improve. All these I wish to you, together with many years of happiness and success.
