Text from Pages 1 - 52 of the 1958 volume:

Presented by the Class of 1958 Bloomfield, Tech. Bloomfield, N. J. GEORGE H. BAXEL Principal Mrs. LUSARDI TO THE CLASS OF 1958 Education is a continuing process. This statement has never been more true than today. Fast changing developments in a tense world situation emphasize the im- portant role of education. Our national survival demands that we must at least match the Soviet Union in their technologí - cal advances. This can only be done if every individual recognizes his own im- portance in this endeavor. After recognition comes action! Action means to work and to learn. If we continually strive for better performance and greater knowledge, we must succeed, We must remain intellect- ually curious on all fronts, socially, as well as technologically, The School's Obligation to the Student The purposes are (1) to assist in the selection of a trade course, (2) to check for steady progress toward his immediate goal - graduation with a high school diploma, (3) to endeavor to place the graduate in a starting job in his trade or aid in the selection of further education (4) to follow up on his progress after leaving school. The Student's Obligation to Himself To best prepare himself, the student should have (1) an excellent attendance record with as little tardiness as possible, (2) consistently maintain the best grades of which he is capable (3) become as proficient as he can at the trade and (4) develop those habits and at- titudes towards schooling which will warrant and command the recommendation of his teachers and school for whatever he undertakes. Both obligations must be met, if the school is to turn out well-rounded citizens.
