Skills Dress Design A student of Dress Design has a wide choice of positions, after she completes her three year course. Her course is de- signed to prepare her for cutting, fitting and sewing women’s and children’s garments. She is taught to operate the various types of machines used in her field, and also learns pattern making, textiles, and fashion designing. An atmosphere of custom dressmaking is evident as she completes her cus- tomer's garment. Technical Secretary This is a very technical subject, and requires the student to understand the terminology and problems she and her employer will face daily. The Technical Secretary student receives basic training in office machines and blueprints.
