My Py te s RASS Pi 7 PERT Y Sy PES PAH . Bue thet oe het 7 DEDICATION Al Gates For years, Al Gates, known to us all as a ‘‘Friend of the Aggie, has given his support, both monetarily and physically, to many events and organizations that the school sponsors. His business, Valley Tree Service of Groveland, has consistently advertised and supported the high school’s yearbook and year after year, Mr. Gates generously donates an award to a Senior graduating in Natural Resources. No spring Suburban Living Days, our annual open house, would be complete without Mr. Gates’ monstrous wooden lumberjack on our front lawn and his crew of men demonstrating various saws, safety equipment and the school’s sawmill. This is an attraction that draws crowds to our school year after year. His generosity and interst in our programs could certainly be seen this year when he sent a crane and a crew to assist the Ornamental Horticulture classes to move a flowering dogwood. Once again Mr. Gates volunteered his time and his equipment and gave our students splendid demonstration of large tree transplanting. Al Gates, a graduate of Essex Aggie’s Class of 1957, has certainly demonstrated the phrase, ‘ school spirit.’” We, the Class of 1986, proudly dedicate this yearbook to Al Gates and thank him for his years of service to our school. | ass¥aL.1986 would like to extend a special thanks to our class advisors, Mr. Collins and Mr. Heath. Without their hard work and dedication, we would not have had such a successful year. We know that they have put up with a lot, and we truly appreciate all their time, effort, and support. I know that you have been well taught. I know that each of you now have the skills in agriculture that will ensure your success. Use what we have taught you and develop those skills. Graduation from high school is stage one in your development. There will be many more. I hope that as you look back over your high school years that you remember the Aggie with both warmth and affection. On behalf of the faculty, I wish you good luck and good fortune. Sincerely yours, Helen M. Hegarty CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 1986 Each year I am asked by the Yearbook Staff to write a letter to the Senior Class. It is difficult to express my thoughts individually, for each class contributes in different ways to the principles and concepts that make our school a unique place of learning. The Class of 1986 has continued in that tradition and you have left an outstanding record for others to emulate. I hope that each of you will look back over the past four years and remember them as a time of personal growth. I know that the training you have received will provide all of you with a firm basis for your future successes.
