This year’s soccer team fought its way to another winning season. With over- whelming team spirit, effort and superb coaching by Mr. Leo Zisis, the team end- ed their season with a hard earned record of 7 wins and 6 losses. John LeBrun, Mark Nelson and Tom Blair, captains of the team, led and in- spired this team, which is made up pri- marily of seniors and many new faces. Next year’s team will face the loss of the following seniors: Ethan Noll, David Wheeler, John LeBrun, Keith Sanford, Tom Blair, Dennis Brown, Chris Daw- kins, Martha Brown, Gary Pelletier, Mark Nelson, and Shawn Hojaboom. Watson The 1980 track team gave it their best shot this season. Under the expertise of coach Mark Gatti and his integral part in developing the team’s spirit, each runner worked to his best ability throughout the season. Dan Verrington, who holds the school record, also won second place in Eastern States, 7th place in Cape Ann and 57th place in All State. Next years team faces the loss of the fol- lowing seniors: Carol Leclerc and Dan Verrington. Women’s Varsity Basketball The girls Varsity team had a lot of poten- tial this season. Through the dedicated coaching of Beth Collins, the girls tried to stay together as a team. Lisa Broderick improved a great deal. Heather Wilson was injured in the middle of the season, but the team strived to do their best with- out her. This was the first year for most of the girls on the team. Julie Sherry became an outstanding center and the high scorer before the year was over along with Cindy Ross and Jill Delaney as guards. Anne Shannon, Jeanette Blanchette, Gena Spero, and Robin Lawrence were always there when you needed them. Tom Blair led the team with the most points and his outstanding performances. Alan Lee was a big help at getting the rebounds.
