SOCCER This year's soccer team kicked its way to another winning season. With total team effort, great enthusiasm, and the superb coaching of Leo Zisis, the team ended its season with a fine record ot a wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie. | The team was led and inspired by its co- captains, Kevin Shumaker, Barry | @ Davis, and John LeBrun. Offensively, B. Davis, J]. Hebert, and ]. LeBrun led ie team in building its record, while, defen- sively, their opponents were held offby the outstanding play of such team mem- bers as K. X - COUNTRY Essex had an excellent X-Country team. The constant drive, the determin- ation, and the team spirit was unending. Although the team had its share of in- juries that prevented some members from competing, it did not deter them. Captain Kay Capozzi, a Cape Ann trophy winner, and Co-Captains Jim Mc- Guiness and Jean Demeule supplied the team with the drive - that extra push- to keep striving for the best possible times. Coach Gatti, new to the team, was confident in its ability to perform well. He was a source of strength and inspira- tion to the whole team.
