IN MEMORY BRUCE HOLT In the short time Bruce Holt taught English at Essex Aggie, our love grew for him. He en- couraged us to live life as fully as possible. Our experiences with him have made him part of us. His faith in our abilities, his constant encouragement, and his love and understanding will always be cherished. We, the Class of 1974, with the greatest pleasure and respect, dedicate this edition of the MAPLE to Mr. James Gallant, Salutations to the Class of 1974: Your graduation will mark an important milestone in your career development, and now is the time to make cer- tain that you are headed in the right direction, in order to attain the fulfillment of your career goals. You are at a junction point in your life, and I hope that you will make the right choices in this next phase of your career de- velopment. Decisions made now will shape and determine the course of events in your future. Regardless of the road you take, your education, in both theory and practice, must be continued. You have com- pleted a solid and practical program, but this attainment in itself is not sufficient to achieve a successful career. You must make sure that your career plans include provision for occupational experience, further education, and personal development. Since you are a member of the ''Essex Family , you can always rely on us for career guidance, employment op- portunities, and additional training if desired. Stay with us - we can help you! May I suggest that you maintain your present relationships with this school by visiting the campus, the teachers, and other employees of the Institute? You can also make a serious effort to retain relationships with classmates. By so doing, you will maintain and continue present friendships. I am sure that for most of you the years at Essex Aggie have been joyful. Your Yearbook is a permanent record of this happy experience. In time, you will refer to this yearbook to bring back memories which will lighten your hearts and renew old friendships. This book is a precious treasure- keep it safe, and years from now, you will truly appreciate this advice. Congratulations! and a sincere wish for the fulfillment of your career goals, with abundant success and happiness in the years ahead. Sincerely, Vemmi. To The Senior Class of 1974: As I left the position of Chairman of the Animal Science Dept. to ac- cept the challenges of the Assistant Dean's position at the Essex Agri- cultural High School, so will you seniors have to face the challenges of tomorrow. Many of you will be accepting positions in the fields of your endeavor -- others will continue their formal education to reach for what you hope will be an even greater challenge and reward. The manner in which each and every one of you handle these chal- lenges and problems will determine your happiness and success. I am sure the vocational placement program and the contact with stu- dents from all areas of the country has certainly helped prepare you for tomorrow. My sincere regards for your future. Gytchand In. Broun Richard M. Brown Assistant Dean To the Class of 1974: I am sure as you look back over the past four years, your emotions range from joy to sadness. I hope the atmosphere on our campus allowed you to grow, not only in your career fields, but also as men and women equipped to meet the challenges of our complex society. Now that you, the members of the Class of 1974, are graduating, I hope you will continue to take advantage of the other educational programs and services offered by the Institute. Your accomplishments have been many and you are to be congratulated. I sincerely hope you have enjoyed your stay at Essex, and I wish you luck and every success in your future endeavors. Rages mel. ¥ Vt. Raymond F. Potter Dean of Faculty MAPLE STAFF Standing: Mrs. J. Harder, Mr. H. Kelly, John Sanderson. Seated: M. Christine Moll, Brian Silva. Working with the 1974 Yearbook Staff has been quite an experience. There were anxious moments now and then, especially before deadlines, but somehow we managed to complete the book. It has been my pleasure to work with the staff. My special thanks go to Chris Moll, our editor, who gave freely of her time and energy to help overcome the numerous difficulties encountered in putting a yearbook together, and to Mr. Harold Kelly who gave generously of his time to help us keep excellent records and to give guidance whenever needed. We hope you enjoy the yearbook. yotnns Harder Yearbook Advisor SENIORS aa. 4 4 ® -« ® Fm. Ss a- .
