Iu Meum | The passing John C. Peel age 21 who was killed in Vietnam September 17, 1967 sad- dened all of those who knew him. He was born January 24, 1946 in Haverhill, Mass. He attended Wood Cogswell, Greenleaf Hunking Schools in Bradford. Before enter - ing Haverhill High School he transferred to Essex Aggie. John was most active in school sports and activities. He was on the football team for 4 years and received a letter and sweater, Weight training 3 years, and was co- captain of the wrestling team 2 years. He also was Captain of the Gymnastics Team 2 years. Also president of the Tropical Fish Club 4 years. All the sports John was in competed with other schools. John has won many prizes and awards, but the best award was when he won a trophy for his outstanding skills in Gymnastics. While devoting most of his time to sports, he still received honor marks. John had many hobbies that he found time to enjoy--hunting, fish- ing, skiing, swimming, stock car racing. The skills that he learned while at Essex were Dairy Laboratory work and received his Milk Testers License, farm equipment, managing a farm, and milking dairy cows. John was very competent in handling just about any job. In the four years at Essex he worked various places: such as Bradford Silsby Farm Haverhill, Kitridge Farm Andover, and various gardening jobs. John was accepted at Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the Uni- versity of Mass. His goal was to become an extension worker at the end of school. The Aggie has lost a true friend; his outstanding achievements and his personal qualities will long be remembered by all. Our sincere sympathy is extended to Mr. Mrs. Peel and Family. --by Michael Coakley Editor
