Robert I. Hayden TO THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1972: I am honored to be asked to write a message in this yearbook for 1972 since I am, myself, only a newcomer. But in my short stay I have already come to love El Salvador, to have a growing affection and respect for our students and our staff at the Escuela Americana. I hope that all of you who have passed through the classrooms and halls of this school have done so with a feeling of accomplishment. You cannot expect that every experience would be a valuable one but if you can say, in truth, that certain ideas were born here, certain interests were awakened here, and that you leave Escuela Americana with some wonderful memories - then you have received much and, I hope, can be rightfully grateful for the experience. Of course, I do not know many of the seniors personally and this I regret very much.
