Smoothing the way Dear Students, This year's graduating class has the honor of leading off the l96O's. The senior students have achieved their education during a decade filled with turmoil which in- cluded, among other things, hot and cold wars and the entrance of the space age. As we look forward to the new decade, we have every reason to believe that our young men and women will strive to im prove themselves and that they will take advantage of the many opportunities afforded them-opportunities which are still very much in abundance at every turn. Quite often it seems that young people have the mistaken idea that everything worthwhile has either been accomplished or dis- covered. The years ahead will open many new horizons for those who have the vision and the courage to push ahead and to give a full measure of effort. ln conclusion, I would like to commend the students of E. U. H. S. for their many ac- complishments during the T959-60 school year. The record gives further evidence to iustify our faith in you. Sincerely, Guilford W. Quade District Superintendent 1 ... N. :....,,.,.g.s,,. ..:.f...g..,. .s.:::., at i l W.. i i ii kwwmsm -we Our school's highest administra- tive responsibilities rest on the shoul- ders of our Superintendent, Mr. Bud Quade. His difficult decisions were carefully reached and successfully carried through.

Dear Students: For the past five years as principal of E.U.H.S., I have felt it indeed an honor to be associated with teachers and students who have demonstrated their loyalty and upheld the high ideals of a school that is well known for its achievements in all areas of education. This year for the first time-and appar- ently the last-we have been one group on one campus for one full year. During this period we have observed the high standards set by those who preceded us. We have strengthened these to the point that they will be evident in the new schools once our group is divided and begins setting stan- dards in new situations.
