Smoothing the way Dear Students, This year's graduating class has the honor of leading off the l96O's. The senior students have achieved their education during a decade filled with turmoil which in- cluded, among other things, hot and cold wars and the entrance of the space age. As we look forward to the new decade, we have every reason to believe that our young men and women will strive to im prove themselves and that they will take advantage of the many opportunities afforded them-opportunities which are still very much in abundance at every turn. Quite often it seems that young people have the mistaken idea that everything worthwhile has either been accomplished or dis- covered. The years ahead will open many new horizons for those who have the vision and the courage to push ahead and to give a full measure of effort. ln conclusion, I would like to commend the students of E.
