The '86 Varsity baseball team fin- ished its season with a 13-11 record. The team won its last five regular games including a couple of shut outs. We had a lot of talent last year, we thought we had a chance at state, but it just wasn't there, ex- plained Kent Brock, short stop. Next year we have a chance to take -- --- state! W-- ,, . . Varsity baseball has successful, winning season with two men on base. The ball was called foul and Pine Forest won dis- trict. HI was satisfied to a degree about this year ,s team, commented Coach Mickey Hudson, varsity coach. A few high points this year were beating Leon High and Tate. 'Ll thought we had a good team this year but we just couldn't get it all together, stated Robby Bodree, second base. My first year as freshman spon- sor was very rewarding, explained Mrs. Keitha Brown. I was lucky be- cause my girls worked hard on their own. I was simply there to offer en- couragement and support, they did all the work! Some of that work included a lot of cheering. The freshman showed their enthusiasm at the 1986 NCA summer camp. There they Won the Spirit Stick which is given to the squad that Wins the stick the most out of their three night stay. I think that we did well, seeing that we all came from different Freshmen chee schools, stated Jenny Gardner, captain. We pulled together from the very beginning and ended with a terrific year. The cheerleaders had one main fund raiser - candy. They sold it to raise money for the last freshman football game of the season. They decorated the locker room and gave each player on oragne. I really enjoyed this past year, commented Karmen Varner, cheer- leader. The Junior Varsity baseball team finished the season with a Winning record of 9-6. Some of the victories included Tate, Milton, Gulf Breeze, and a shut-out over Niceville 3-0.
