This years Varsity Cheerleading team was full of spirit and experi- ence. At the 1986 NCA summer camp they clenched first place with the Award of Excellence, L'Cheerleading itself was a blast! stated Becky George, Senior. Cheering in front of the Escambia fans was a dream of mine that I fi- nally got to achievef' The team had many activities and fund raisers this year. They sold nu- merous loaves of cinnamon bread and had a flower sale. All the money they raised this year went to pur- chase poster board, paints, and markers. They used these supplies to decorate the halls, the bowl, and the teams' locker room before games. Junior Varsity We had a very talented squad this year, which put forth a great deal of hard work and effort, ex- plained Mrs. Kipp Wells, sponsor. Although this was Mrs. Wells first year coaching the Varsity team, it was not her first experience coach- ing a cheerleading team. For the past several years Mrs. Wells has been the freshman cheerleading sponsor. Junior Varsity The 1986-87 edition of the J .V Cheerleaders consisted of eight girls. The squad cheered at pep-ral- lies, football, and basketball games. HThe Junior-Varsity squad is the best all-around squad that I've ever had. We won the Award of Excel- lence at summer camp and contin- ued improving throughout the year, explained Mrs. Sheila Mont- gomery, J .V. Cheerleader sponsor. The eight members were: Jessica Neff, Stacy Hedden, Angelea En- finger, Monica Morrow, Michele Friedel, Misty Haynes. The captains were Tracie Harvell, and Tracie Goodwin.
