,pwmmw .- ..-21 Diversified Cooperative Training was a club which combined school and Work. It enabled students to attend in the morning and work in the afternoon. I ' Mr. Jackie Nelson returns as spon- sor, making this his second year. Mr. Nelson's main goal for DCT was to de- velop leadership skills, employability skills, along with school and civic re- sp onsibilities. This year DCT consisted of 22 mem- ! K bers. Each member was required to .li maintain a 1.5 grade point average, as DCT members combine school and Work A ' ff Well as Working 16 hours a week at 1 ks. The money from those sales went toward their an- nual employer-employee banquet. In addition, DCT provided refreshments for the memorial service. My main goal, is to get as many students as possible actively involved in theaterf' explained Mr. John Leop- ard, Encore sponsor. This year 's club consisted of 33 members. The requirements to be in the orga- nization were to maintain a 2.0 grade average, and to participate in all pro- ductions. Encore members represent- ed EHS at county and state speech and drama tournaments, and also pre- sented LHJ the Down Staircase, and Encore's Main Goal: Involvement The Odd Couple, in the spring, and three one-act plays in the fall. Encore hopes to give the school and community a better understanding of the world of drama and speech. They also plan to increase their member- ship and to have a well unified club. Drama is a necessary part of becom- ing a well-rounded liberal arts stu- dent, stated Michelle Steward, En- core President. 5 'K

The forty members cooperate well together, stated Mrs. Mary Johnson, sponsor. Mrs. Johnson has been the sponsor for seven years. The main goal we hoped to achieve by the end of the year was to create school spirit, stated Kai Watson, president, We support as many sports teams in the school as possible. In order to be a member of Pep Club, one had to maintain a grade point average of 2.0 throughout the Pep Club Works to encourage spirit year, there was also try outs. To raise money the club particiapted in car washes, doughnut sales, and candy sales. We, the 1986-87 Escambia High Pep Club hoped this year was the best year ever, proclaimed Mrs. J ohnson.
