This year BETA had two sponsors which were Ms. Barbara McAtee and Kendra Grove. When asked what her goal as sponsor was for helping her club Ms. McAtee replied 'ilnstall leadership and responsibil- lity into members. There are approximately seventy five members in the club. To be ac- X cepted you must receive all A's and Bls on your report card. You must maintain a 3.0 grade average to stay lI1. - 1 J yy ea BETA maintains 3.0 average The club was involved in many projects this year such as visits to the Childrenls Hospital, giving two 2 as senior BETA members scholarships and they worked on the Angel Tree at Cordova Mall. They also had their annual induction ceremony in Janu- ary for new members. Beta's main goal for this year was to increase activity within the school, concluded Kim Peterson, BETA president. Mu Alpha Theta Mu Alpha Theta, the math honor club, has doubled in size this year. The clubs 55 members tutored stu- dents having difficulties in math through the year, and prepared for the math contest held at Milton. Our main goal as a club is to re- ward students for academic success in college preparatory math and en- courage continued success, stated Mrs. Nancy Devall, third year spon- sor. doubles in size Z Pig S The requirements to be in Mu Al- pha Theta is to have a 3.5 through- out the year. The meetings were held on Wednesday of each week. Mu Alpha Theta participated in candy sales, tutoring, preparing for contests, homecoming field day and they were guides at Open House.
