'LMy main goal as president is to help our school and community a better place to be,', stated Todd Lyter, president. NHS has 29 mem- bers. NHS participated in several fund- raising products. Some of them were among the following: selling of 'Tm a Gator Fan fans, candy sells, and Clubs main goal: Improve community and school NHS also put on Junior Mister. In order to be in NHS, you had to have a 3.5 grade point average, good citizenship and one and a half se- mesters compelted. Gator A's was an organization formed just last year by Mrs. Laura Webre, The purpose was to reward students. You could become a member if you made the A honor roll during any grading period. Gator A's was unlike a regular ser- vice club. Gator A's held no meet- ings, appointed no offices, and held no fundraising projects. This organi- zation simply brought forward ex- celling students and rewarded them for their achievements. Being classified as a Gator A is simply a pat on the back for being a good student, stated Mrs. Webre, Gator A advisor. This fall membership was 50, in- creasing last fall 's count of 40 by 10. -rm W' yy, vi , s .-r.-4. 1 at i : ,,-u. X, Excelling Students Awarded through Gator A's Gator A members included 20 se- niors, seven juniors, ten sopho- mores, and twelve freshmen. Seven- teen of these students had been Ga- tor A's for more than one six weeks. These students were: Jennifer Bailey Shari Glass, Leslie Hansen, Stacey Hedden, Matthew Horn, George Madrid, Josh McDaniel, Da- vid Mims, John Olwin, Jennifer Ra- mech, Berlinda Recacho, Susan Sa- moszenko, Greg Shick, Lill Stein- metz, Eric Stone, Kelli Tice, and Rebecca Wilcox. Becoming a member of Gator A's is a prided achievement among the hardworking students, stated Nick Nicholson, senior Gator A. 5 P 1.
