The boys basketball team was holding a 12-8 record during mid February with five games remain- ing. This year 's team success total- ly depends on our senior leadership. and team defense, commented Coach Norm Ross. The teams wins were against: West Palm Beach Forest Hill, Nice- ville, Tate, Gulf Breeze, PHS, Wood- ham, Milton, and Sumter County High. Their losses were to: Ocala Forest, Kissimmee Osceola, Moss Point Mississippi, Pine Forest, Mil- ton, and Washington. They also par- ticipated in some tournaments. Fellow Gators Maurice Webster and Kevin Dale were honored with awards during the season. Kevin was selected to the All-Tournament teams in the Breeders Cup Tourna- 7 ., :Wh e .zr:,-'Z r ' ' 7 fl. 1- This year 's 1986-87 J.V Basket- ball had a record of 10-4 by mid Feb- ruary, with five games remaining, this year 's team is one of the best group of individuals I have ever been associated with, commented Coach Paul Ackerman. They are intelligent, good athletes, and they have a burning desire to succeed. Captain ofJ.V Basketball was Ty- lar Hardeman. As for Co-captain, a definite one was never assigned, players rotated during the year for the position. J .V one of the best ever The win-loss record and team ef- fort was better this year since Coach Ackerman has taken over. the team has acquired several new players which has increased the sta- bility of the team. 'tWe worked hard this season to represent our school well, replied Mark Thornhill, junior. We will continue to be the best we can be.
