L'l7l0f 1 -M-1-nut:-y-H The 1986 cross-country season is over, but the boys and girls teams both had a successful year. The girls qualified 16th in the state meet, which the boys place 5th in the re- gional meet. The boys team consisted of eight runners: Ron Coffman, and Nick Nicholson, co-captains, Ercel Carter, Marc Gurlin, Tim Warner, John Olwin, David Fox, and Steve Elting. The girls team was made up of: Tracy Parks, captain, Irena Mit- chem, Susan Walker, Stacy Reyn- olds, Ilene Fortin, Barbara Walker, and Jennifer Harris. This years let- termen were: Ron Coffman, Nick Nicholson, Tim Warner, Irena Mit- chem, and Tracy Parks. I was proud to be one of the cap- tains durlng my senior year. All of my teammates were very special to me, stated Nick Nicholson, senior runner, and I wish much luck and Cross Country teams run to victory I many good times in the future to the 56 NM8 team and Coach Martin. The girls team placed in the top ten, eleven times, while the boys fin- ishd in the ten, six times. Tim Warner set an E.H.S. record of 16:34 . in the three mile run during the re- ' gional meet in Tallahassee. Tracy A Parks set herself a record with her ' run of 11:54 in the two mile run. The running Gators ran in meets against the folowing schools: Pine Forest, Gulf Breeze, PH.S., Tate, Woodham, Washington,, Crestview, Niceville, Talahasse Lincoln, Rick- ards, and Leon, Quincy Shanks, Choctaw, Fort Walton Beach Pace, and Pensacola Christian shcool. Even though the record does not show it there were four times as many swim- mers that competed in the district finals, than last year. This year 's Varsity Soccer Team finished the season with a 10-8-2 re- cord. I feel the varsity has contrib- uted by hard Work and team unity, stated Paul McEwan, soccer coach. Their wins in regular season play were against Milton 8-3, Bay 5-2, Crestview forfeit, Tate 1-0, Pine For- est 6-4, Pensacola 3-2, and Washing- ton 3-1. Their losses in regular sea- Varsity Soccer has Winning Season son play were to Tate 0-2, Pine For- est 2-4, Gulf Breeze 0-1, Niceville 4- 7, Choctohatchee 0-3, Rutherford 1- 2.
