 12 Varsity Falls Short of Victory In the second quarter of a hard-fought game against the Riverbank Bruins, Kevin Harris' touchdown put the Varsity in a 6-0 lead. Danny Keyser's conversion point went wide of the uprights. Later in the first half, Keyser missed a field goal that fell short of the crossbar. Early in the fourth quarter, the Bruins marched eighty yards for a touchdown and scored the extra point, which proved to be the deciding factor in the Homecoming contest. The Frosh-Soph Cougars won their game, 26-0. Students cheered the Freshmen on to a victory over Riverbank, 28-0. The crowning of Queen Sherri Bartolomei highlighted halftime activities Homecoming night. 4. Eski's defense is in pursuit of Riverbank's Bruins. 5. Express Rolls Again 1978's J.F. Express' returned as the S.S. Express for a second victory in the 1979 Powder Puff contest. The opposing J.F. Bombers put up a good struggle but couldn't get on the score board, falling to a defeat of 14-0. Steve Toy, 1978 Powder Puff King also returned to crown the 1979 King, Brian Sharp. Other candidates were Danny Keyser, Scott Loureiro, Henry Plott, and Randy Reid. Each candidate was escorted during half-time by his mother. The winning coaches of the S.S. Express were Stan Laugero, John Largent, and Henry Bartelink. Leading the J.F. Bombers were Tom Love, Brian Ney, and Chris Headrick. Jerry Dalmon, Eric LaBass, Mike Lowry, Rick Mascadri, and Tom Blanco cheered the S.S. Express to victory. Supporting the J.F. Bombers were Raul Campa, Steve Hall, Matt Foley and Shawn Rocha. 5. S.S.
