Cougars Face Tough Season o o The 1978 Escalon Varsity Cougars showed much heart and determination, but were short on luck and talent. Mike Hawkins showed great ability in being a fine guard, while Mark Franceschetti, guard, and Jeff Wright, center, displayed much potential for next year's team. Bryan Ney played well during the season, despite an injury. Coach French said that he was very proud to have been associated with his team members because they never gave up, despite the trying season they had. 1 Jeff Wright trys for two points. 2.
