DETERMINATION Spells Cougar Cubs The 1977 Frosh-Soph Football Team under Coach Backovich and Assistant Coach French had a tough season. Injuries plagued the team, since a total of fourteen boys were injured during the season, but their determination carried them through the year. Their victories were played against Hilmar, 24-0 and Patterson, 13-0. 4. Butch Tipps of the Frosh-Soph Team stretches for some yardage. 5. Frosh- Soph Football Team.  The Freshman Team, coached by Mr. Arellano and Assistant Coach Moreno, concentrated on the fundamentals of football. They worked hard to learn the basics of the game and will hopefully be able to show their ability next year. Their victories, though few, were decisive, including the winning games against Patterson, 7-0, and Riverbank, 36-0. 1 Robert Silva is tackled after large ground gain. 2. Homecoming Stirs Excitement An activity filled Homecoming Week was highlighted by the crowning of Cindy Bartolomei as 1977 Homecoming Queen. Activities included dressing up for Clash Day, Stomp 'Em Day, Red Day, Mourning Day, and Purple and Gold Day. The parade on Friday, October 28, was a huge success with many entries of bands and floats. That night brought the crowning of our new queen and was topped by a dance with the music of Crystal Image. 1. The 1976 queen, Caroline VanderWerfP congratulates her successor, Cindy Bartolomei. 2.
