The Student Body finished a very progressive year under the able hand of our president, Marvin Iohnson, assisted by Bonnie Knepp, Vice-president, lune Jorgensen, secretary, David Marshall, treasurer, and Hugh Barton, assembly manager. Though the assemblies were few and far between, those that we did have were enjoyed by all. Most of the assemblies were presented by the different clubs of the school. Our school dances proved to be quite successful this year with the assistance of our popular school dance band. Noon dancing also proved to be something new with the addition of the juke box, lunch tables and the snack bar in the girls' gymnasium. Last but not least, we must not forget our vivacious yell leaders, Margaret Ann Carvalho and Wyvonee Butler, who did a swell iob of filling our students with pep.

I. Rsicharl. STUDENT CCUNCIL The Student Council of the Associated Student Body of Escalon Union High School had a fruitful year under the able guidance of President Marvin Iohnson. The student council was very active this year, serving as operators of the snack bar. We purchased for the snack bar a juke box, refrigerator, popcorn machine and coke machine. Despite the fact that we bought all of this equipment, the snack bar showed a good margin of profit. Hugh Barton acted as general manager of the enterprise, with students Working under him. The student council acted as host to the Section lU, California Association of Student Councils winter conference in Ianuary. It was agreed by everyone that it was the best conference we had ever had. We also were highly honored by being asked to hold a discussion group at the C.A.S.C. convention in Santa Barbara, and were very instrumental in having our school become renowned in this organization. The members of the student council Wish to thank Mr. Whitlock, our compe- tent advisor, for making this year's student council a very potent function of our student government. it 1 Q X NN' .
