Principal MR. ROBERT W. CANNADY To Erwin High School Seniors, 1966-1967: In my short tenure at Erwin High, I have been impressed by many things - one of the most notable of these has been this year's senior class. Your seriousness of purpose, your warmth, friendliness, and cooperation are high among the reasons for my being so happy here. I am grateful to this class for these things and I extend to you best wishes for con- tinued success. We have tried to provide experiences here that would cause you to accept the responsi- bilities and privileges of democratic living. We trust you have become proud and self-reli- ant and that you will continue to work cooperatively with others in the community who are attempting to make Erwin and our nation a better place. We want you to take pride in per- sonal accomplishments, but more than this, we hope you will always keep things in their proper perspective - to understand the relative value of spiritual and material things. What you do after graduation will determine whether your school and home have been successful. We know you do not yet know what you will become, but I challenge you to plan always to be of service. You not only have a responsibility to yourselves and your families, but also to society. What you do and how you conduct yourselves will determine whether you are fulfilling this responsibility. I am confident that the members of this class will meet their responsibilities. Best wishes for health and happiness and many years of service. Robert W. Cannady
