She was educated at East Tennessee State University where she received her B.A. degree in English and did her work for her master’s degree in guidance at East Tennessee State University. She has been a source of comfort and inspiration to this year’s Senior Class. THRE WORLD The world of Ervinton High School is a very special one. It is in- dependent from any town or community. Surrounded by strong, towering mountains, Ervinton High School is a world all its own. Being in this special environment, the students of E.H.S. grow to bo close friends and are loyal Rebels, standing together as one. In the year of 1986, ‘‘We Are The World” was a special song that drew peo- ple together in a cause to fight starvation in Ethiopia. The Rebels of E.H.S. are drawn together in a special cause as well. To become mature young people and to acquire their education is their cause, and the Rebels are fighting for their cause here in their special world of Ervinton High School. te ATO, saad iia AE Binding Friendshi EAN TO i bal ¢ Fun Hav oneanren eS SaGeeR OF agannh?® Bk prt THE Wo, i .S) WELCOME TO OUR WORLD OF ACTIVITIES RY Pageants, athletic events, academic competitions, forensic contests, and much more make up our world of activities. Beyond these walls, this town, this state A whole new world now lies in wait. You’ve much to learn, we’re often told Wisdom to gain before you’re old But tonight — before you turn and go Your separate ways, as well we know. Enjoy this place, these hours, this school In memory they'II return to you.” The prom was held on May 11, 1985 in the gymnasium. The gym was decorated with shades of blue floating across the ceiling and touches of silver glittered on the tables. The center of the decorations was a 12’ silver archway that couples danced under and around. 23 These Memories Were Personally Printed For You titties } f ‘ iz : : V Lisa Skeens and Brett Norris were chosen as princess and prince of the prom, and Melissa Stanley and Gary Willis were selected as queen and king of the 1985 Junior-Senior Prom.
