Each homeroom elects a candidate to run. This event is a fundraising venture and has sparked a great deal of interest and participation by the student body. Each can- didate collects money based on a penny-a-vote. The winner is the young lady who has obtain- ed the most votes. Pictured at left are some of the candidates for the 1981 Miss Sweetheart Contest. Teen [90 O} Ah Our Talent Is Showing EHS’s first Talent Show was a tremendous success this year. Students were given an opportunity to participate with a display of their own particular talent, and _ the response was wonderful. Areas of talent included: dancing, singing, and comedy sketches. The students per- formed for the Student Body as well as a panel of judges. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three acts. The winners are shown in picture 1. Debbie and Kim must think so. . Category — Dance. John and Tonette seemed to know what they were doing. . They said Jiggers was afraid to take the bag off his head after the Talent Show. Wonder why? I guess ‘cause his mike wasn’t working. 83 84 The 1981 Junior-Senior Prom was held on May 23rd in the auditorium. The dance floor was highlighted with bright Hawaiian decor. The theme was ‘‘Keep On Loving You.” The Juniors, Seniors, and _ their guests danced to music played by Jack Browning, alias ‘‘Dueling Turntables.” The evening was climaxed by the crown- ing of Prom King and Queen, Bobby Wolfe and Debbie Barton, and Prom Prince and Princess, Jeff Salyer and Michelle Damron. . gw f. gS. The members of the club give up their study halls to do various jobs in the library, and they deserve a great deal of credit. Outside activities for the Library Club this year included a reception held for club members and their parents during Thanksgiving. The library had another reception to honor National Library Week in the Spring.
