It was a fine year for the Rebels, they were led by Mike Gulley and Rodney Compton who were the 2nd and 3rd leading scorers in the District and who also made All District and All Tournament Teams. Some of the highlights of the season were the defeat of Castlewood, and the win over Appala- chia that put us into Fourth place. We ended the regular season on a winning note by defeating Haysi 102-76. This really put the Team into good spirits before going into the tournaments at Nor- ton. The first night the Rebels played Clintwood for the third time and claimed the County Cham- pionship by winning over the Green Waves, 71- 59. The second night we went into the Semi- Finals against Powell Valley but unfortunately lost although they were never behind more than 11 points during the game. The final score was 67- 55 . This marked the end of the season for many Seniors including Rodney Compton, Billy Gulley, Sam Burkett, Denny Ritchie and Robert Suther- land. Coming back next year are Mike Gulley, Anthony Stevens, James Yates, Rodney Williams, Kevin Yates, Joe Bailey and Kelly Riddle. We are looking forward to next year with high hopes, but for those Seniors who are leaving, we Thank You for the fine effort and Team Spirit that you have put into the season and hopefully next year will be as successful! ! ! 16 17 f 18 19 20 21 22 i 1 - eammmmm ■Lj imm m i 23 7 We come to school to learn about a truth we can meet and witness. And in searching for it, we find a common bond which ties us together with more strength. Our teachers help us to dis- cover these truths through gentle persuasion and guidance , but most of all , we help each other by caring enough to give our time . 25 1 26 27 uWv 1374 - Jt (i Uu(L (Jfo n, BELOW: First Runner Up MISS DEBRA SILVERS (Senior) Escort: Michael Gulley Judy, the 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald E.
