1962 A TELEvlsloN BROADCAST Oh, my goodness, there's DONALD MOHLER, Ervin's 1942 class president. What's he saying-Oh--listen! Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and especially you in Ervin. I am here on my anniversary broadcast as a commentator on E.-R-V-I-N to bring you all the news of the sports world. Instead of my usual broadcast tonight-I have contacted all my 1942 classmates and am going to interview some of them. First-RALPH fbetter known as Jimj KELLY was our star ball player in 1942. Hasn't he gained weight, folks? Jim, what are you doing now? I am retired, Donald, and a married man. Yes, Jim, I noticed two little red-haired girls when I was at your house the other day. You married OPAL STOVER, I presume. Yes, and we have the large white house on the corner of Chestnut and Judson Street in Noble. Thank you, Jimf' ' And here is ANNA LOUISE CRIPE. Isn't she the picture of her mother, folks? Excuse me, I should say Dr. Cripe, for you see, Anna Louise is in general practice in Deer Creek now. How are you Anna Louise? Fine, Donald-I paid 572.16 income tax this year, so I guess you could say I'm doing fine. Ah! here is DAVID ELLERg he wears horn-rimmed spectacles now. W'hat are you doing, Dave? Did you ever get Mary Jane? No, Donald, I am definitely NOT married. I am in charge of Noble's Escort Bureau and living comfortably, thank you. p We'll have to hurry-here's Mrs. MAE FEATHERSTONE Lybrook. How are you, Mae? O. K., Donald, I've just invented a new lipstick which shows up in a blackout. I've been offered two contracts already. Here's success to you, Mae. Hello Phyllis! This is Mrs. PHYLLIS NUTT W'hite. You always did want to be a 'White' man's wife. Didn't you? Don't be silly, Donald, I worked in an oflice for four years after I graduated. My husband is in the photography business, and I am running for president of Nobles Federation of Women's Clubs. Thank you, Phyllis. And here we have GAYLE JOHNSON. Gayle happens to be playing in the stage show at the Merchant Theatre at Noble this week. How's tricks, Johnson? Swell, I've been around the world twice. I like the show business very much. Got my start at Ervin in the Ervin Capers. You know, that spring revue of '42. Yes, I remember very well. Next we have Mrs. MARJORIE ETHERINGTON Hensley. She and Richard were married in June 1942, before he left for the army. How're things, Marjorie? I'm County Girl's 4-H Club Leader this year, Donald, and we have a wonderful group of girls. And now, folks, EUNICE ROBERTSON. How are you? Fine, Donald, I'm off duty just now, I'm a nurse on the surgical staff in the St. Joseph Hospital. Thank you. Well if it isn't JUNIOR BENNETT. What are you doing, Junior? I'm chief mechanics teacher at Allison's Engineering School. Fine. We're glad to hear of your success. Look who just came into the studio, LILLIAN KERKHOFF, who succeeded Mrs. Giles at Ervin in 1952. How are things, Lillian? The Spring Revue of 1962 went off grand this year. We did a new version 05 the 1942 Revue. Mrs. Giles was an honored guest. That's fine, I was there one night, and it reminded me a lot of the '42 show. Here is RITA MAE MYNARSKI. She is now in the Salvation Army. Where do you have your copper kettle this year, Rita Mae? I'm still on Main Street in front of the dime stores. I'm hoping to be changed next year. RUBY BYERS is in the hospital now recovering from a motorcycle accident. She has a fast driving husband I guess. Yes, folks, I have letters from BETTE MARTIN and LEONA PRIFOGLE this week. They are living in San Francisco while their husbands are somewhere on the high seas. Both traitors to the armyg they married navy men. Last to appear is CHARLOTTE LOUTHAIN who has Miss Henry's job at Ervin. How are you, Charlotte? Fine, Donald, my students are going to the Commercial Contest this year on bicycles. That's all this evening, folks. I want to congratulate the 1962 graduates of Ervin who have their Commencement tonight. Goodnight all. u u n u n

Class Will LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF SENIORS OF ERVIN TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL, COUNTY OF HOWARD AND STATE OF INDIANA. BE IT REMEMBER THAT THE SENIORS in the year of 1942, upon gaining that docu- ment of our knowledge, being of sound mind and memory-WE HOPE-do fit to- gether, advertise and circulate this-our last will and testament in manner and form as follows: PHYLLIS NUTT hands down her chic styles to our forthcoming fashion plate-BETTY PRICE. LILLIAN KERKHOFF offers her superfluous answers for Mr. Spandau to IRENE WERTZ. To MARY JANE YATER, BETTE MARTIN leaves her skelton and muscles for further use in Health Class. GAYLE JOHNSON leaves his second-hand girl-friends to ROBERT MERRELL. MAE FEATHERSTONE wills her ability to hold her boy-friend the longest to NINA RINEHART. To JOHN LOUTHAIN, EUNICE ROBERTSON gives her flapperish ways- if he will use them sparingly. Our 1942 sheik, DONALD MOHLER, offers his ability to disturb hearts to PHYLLIS AMOS. CHARLOTTE LOUTHAIN will allow her up-rising mischieveiousness to be carried on by MAX BRUBAKER. RALPH KELLY lends his one-arm driving experiences to LLOYD STOVER for a period of one year if he will promise to return them. To NINA RINEHART, RITA MAE MYNARSKI offers her position of being a good secretary to a good-looking boss, such as Mr. Bolton. OPAL STOVER wills her ability to yell and her flaming red hair to PATSY FLORA. To JOAN WELSH, ANNA LOUISE CRIPE leaves her collection of boy-friend pictures. RUBY BYERS transfers her cute figure, to be handled with care, to IRENE WERTZ. MARJORIE ETHERINGTON hands down her connections with the Hensley family to JOAN WELSH. Why couIdn't Joan be a little younger? LEONA PRIFOGLE offers her career of letter service for Uncle Sam's Boys to MARGARET MCCOY. To the coming SENIOR CLASS, DAVID ELLER leaves his sleepiness and bright answers. To ROBERT MERRELL, JUNIOR BENNETT wills his name, Junior, and his shoes, size 12, to be used properly. We HOPE and TRUST that these RARE QUALITIES will be used to the best of the ability of all those to whom they are given. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, WE THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1942, have Set Our hand and closed this, our last will and testament, written in this yearbook, this last day Of our Senior Year, April 30th in the year of One Thousand Nine Hundred Forty-two.
